Benson 28, LQPV 14
The Braves scored on their opening drive and never looked back en route to a 28-14 win over the LQPV Eagles. Michael Ahrndt was 12-25 for 185 yards, no INT's and 3 TD passes. Senior Jesse Holm 6'8" WR caught the first TD, while senior Daniel Fragodt had 4 catches for 101 yards and 2 TD's. He also had 2 INT's and a fumble recovery. Brandon Berens rushed 32 times for 115 yards and a score as well. Benson was led defensively by Scott Svingen (DT) and Jason Roberts (LB).
Windom 31, Pipestone 28
Windom senior Jesse Behrens scored on a 23-yard reception, a 2-yard run and a 98-yard kickoff return, as Windom led 20-6 early in the second half. Pipestone scored two fourth quarter touchdowns, including one on a 21-yard quarterback draw by Colin Taubert with under two minutes to play. Windom got the ball back near midfield. Junior quarterback A.J. Stevens completed two passes to junior receiver Brett Dumke, setting up a 20-yard field goal by senior Dan Shimek with 13 seconds left for the victory.
Mankato West 26, Rochester John Marshall 21
Mankato West put up 384 yards of total offense and held Rochester to 88 yards in the second half to come from behind in the fourth quarter. The offense was led by Dan Dobson who threw for 165 yards and a touchdown and ran for 201 yards and 2 TD's. Junior Brandon Birr led the defense with 11 tackles. The Scarlets trailed 21-12 at half, rallied by shutting down the JM offense and posted two scores in the second half. The big play of the game came on 3rd and 8 from Mankato West's own 12 yard line. Dan Dobson took a QB sweep 80 yards to the Rocket's 8 yard line, which led to his one yard touchdown run.
